Discover beauty of wood

CAMPAIGNERS who have banded together to protect a green oasis in Weymouth are inviting people on an evening walk to discover its beauty.
The Friends of Radipole Community Wood was formed following meetings between residents and conservation officers from Dorset County Council.
The six-acre site near Radipole Primary School is home to an abundance of trees and a variety of woodland creatures.
It is now hoped the site can be made the subject of a bid for English Nature's Wildspace scheme and designated a local nature reserve (LNR).
This Sunday there will be a walk around the site with experts pointing out species of interest including bats.
Dorset County Council rangers and nature reserve officers Julian Cooper and Wayne Hope will be on hand to talk about the area's wildlife and history.
If you would like to join the walk meet at the main gate to the wood (in Radipole School if wet) at 7pm.
